Risikat Oladoyin S. DAUDA is a Professor of Economics of the University of Lagos. She holds a M.Sc. degree in Economics from Kharkov Institute of Engineering and Economics (now known as Simon Kuznets Kharkiv National University of Economics), Kharkov, Ukraine in 1993 and a Ph.D. degree in Economics from Kharkov State University (now known as V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University), Kharkov, Ukraine in 1996 and a Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) at the University of Lagos in 2012. Prof. Risikat Dauda is a development economist with more than 20 years of experience in research, teaching and consultancy on issues of African development. She commenced her career in academics at the Department of Economics, University of Lagos in 1999 and rose steadily to become a Professor in 2016.
She has served the University of Lagos meritoriously in several capacities. Prof. Dauda served as theDeputy Director (Media Services and Course Materials Development), Distance Learning Institute, University of Lagos for the period between 20th October, 2014 and 31st October, 2016. She has also served as the Head, Department of Economics, University of Lagos for a period of Three (3) years, from 1st August, 2017 to 31st July, 2020. She is a member of the Economics and Statistics Committee of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry. She is currently a Co-investigator in a TETFUND National Research Grant (NRF) to study the implementation challenges and coordination problems which are likely to arise from the African Continental Free Trade Area Agreement (AfCFTA) within the broad theme “Learning from Regional Integration History – A Case Study of Nigeria’s Economic Development”.
She is a member of many professional organisations amongst which are: Nigerian Economic Society (NES), International Association for Feminist Economics (IAFFE) and Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM).
