Brief biography

Judith Reitz is “Professor for Design and Interior Planning” at the Peter Behrens School of Arts/ University of Applied Science in Düsseldorf, Germany. Her teaching is concerned with experimental design strategies linked to building typologies. In the past 4 years she established the “PBSA Institute for Social Impact”, which links theoretical teaching to 1:1 non-profit project performed by students. Judith Reitz taught as Visiting Associate Professor at the Texas A&M for the past 8 years and was previously to Düsseldorf employed as an assistant professor at the RWTH Aachen University teaching at the department “Building Typologies and Design Basics”. Judith Reitz has received her diploma in Architecture with honors as a collaboration of the RWTH Aachen and the University of Applied Sciences Vienna. After her diploma she has worked for several years at the practice of Zaha Hadid Architects in London. In 2006 she founded the architecture and research practice “bfr lab”, which is working at the boundaries of architecture, design and research.
